More fun in the land of Heidi
Purple tulips and the view from our balcony
Mr. H's favorite meal-- Swiss dinner! Bread, cheese, salami, and tomatoes with butter and mayonnaise make for a tasty dish!
More schokolade fur Oster! We are continually amazed at how intricate people are willing to get with chocolate for their Easter bunnies.

Lovely buildings around Basel...
The First Swiss Hike-- Dornach and Gempen
Before we caught the bus to Gempen, we found this monument to a medieval battle in Dornach, including some very battle-worn skulls.
We picnicked in this meadow overlooking a small village. It was a wee bit cold, but very beautiful.
After climbing uphill to the Gempen Turm, (and a brief stop for some hot chocolate at the restaurant there) we were rewarded with views of Basel (on the left), a charming little farm, and the town of Dornach.
The tower was quite high and not one of the most acclaimed marvels of Swiss architecture, but we survived! Notice the restaurant on the right.
Going down, down, down...
Mr. H. catches his wife in a moment of forest frolic!
Another pretty farm.
Mr. H. likes the mathematical rhythm of these trees and Mrs. H. just thinks they are pretty.
Spring is on the way!
Castle ruins of Schloss Dornach and views from the top of it. Rebuilt in the 14th century.
Obviously, the Swiss (well, at least in Dornach) have different ideas about the legalization of marijuana than we do.
Back in Basel at the end of the day
We enjoyed the sculpture fountain with its mechanical moving creatures after a long day of hiking.
This is a photo of our entire apartment-- we told you it was small!
