Thursday June 16th – Second day of the “fling”

As the second day of the fling started, we all gathered under the trees once more, and started Readers’ Theatre.  It was Shakespeare’s Comedy of Errors.   All sat and either listened or read about the confusion two sets of twins can cause.  The two sets of twins were played by Tim Jackson and Francis Pedraza as the two Antipholus’, and Daniel Parker and Zach Lucia as the two Dromios. Tillman Gressitt, Jonathon Lann, Lauren Lucia, Chelsea Nygaard, Twilla Elhardt, Eric Dowling, Will Craddick, myself, Stephen Jackson, Jonathon Aymin, Brenna Lybeck, Myles Holliday and Brett Criss were among the other readers.  Everyone was laughing at one point or another.  We all enjoyed this play and, for those of us that would be attending, looked forward to seeing it at the Old Globe.

After our reading was done, it was time for lunch.  Most of the girls ate and talked while the guys played several games of Ultimate Frisbee.  (Some of the girls did join them towards the end, when things got a little less competitive.)  By the time Mr.H was ready to start again, the guys were all hot and sweaty and the girls were cool and collected.  ;-)

Oedipus Rex was the next reading.  As we all tried to find enough shade (the sun had gotten very bright and hot) we listened as Oedipus began to discover his past.

That night a group of people went to Lamb’s Players to see Cold Comfort Farm.  I did not attend this event so I don’t really know anything else about it.
